Emergency Reporting Procedures

An emergency is defined as any serious, sudden, urgent or unexpected situation that may cause injury, loss of life or damage to property and which therefore requires immediate attention and remedial action to ensure the safety health and safety of all YG employees on the premises.

Regardless of the type of emergency in progress, you may call 9-911 (or appropriate numbers for Police, Fire, Ambulance, etc) immediately, if you are not in imminent danger.

When you call to report an emergency, provide the operator with the following information:

    • Nature of Emergency: Responder will request: Police Fire or Ambulance
    • Your name
    • Your Phone Number
    • Building location
    • Physical location
    • Persons affected

If you are not in immediate danger, also notify the Building Warden as quickly as possible.

Remain calm and respond to the emergency as appropriate.

Do not attempt to handle any emergency situation for which you do not have the training.

Immediately obey any evacuation order.

A summary of the above information is outlined on the Emergency Preparedness Summary template.
