This one day course brings together the managers, supervisors, safety committee members, and Health and Safety representatives to learn about inspection and investigation techniques.
An inspection is a planned walkthrough of a workplace designed for the identification and control of any hazards that can cause injury or illness. Supervisors and managers are required to respond to a reported incident, conduct an investigation and identify root causes, so that similar occurrences can be prevented and future workplace losses prevented. Safety committee members may be involved as well
Inspections and investigations are required by Yukon Occupational Health and Safety Act.
JOHSC Co-chairs and Representatives must attend the Inspection and Investigation education session to complete JOHSC certification requirements.
Course Pre-requisite – Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee (JOHSC) Part 1.
Inspection and Investigation techniques are essential skills for all YG supervisors/managers.
Course Pre-requisite – Corporate Health and Safety Management System eLearning course.
This session will build upon the foundations established in the JOHSC Part 1 program and the eLearning Corporate Health and Safety Management System.

- Risk Assessment; and
- Accident Investigation
